ABC is very active in the local community, we hold regular and one off events in locations across the West Bognor area. Here are some of the events that make a huge difference to the lives of hundreds of people in our neighbourhood.
ROYAL GARDEN SERVICE: Held on the last Friday of each month from10:30.
The Church holds a service at for the benefit of residents of the Royal Garden Hotel care home at Princess Avenue, just off of Aldwick Seafront at Marine Park Gardens. It is open to regular worshippers at ABC to take part if they wish. 10.30am for tea/coffee and biscuits followed by a short sevice at 11.00am.
BURLINGTON COMMUNION SERVICE: We have a team from ABC. Several residents attend regularly and show appreciation of our visits. There is a very pleasant
atmosphere, giving us an enjoyable experience. The service itself has an opening welcome, songs (accompanied by a pianist on electric keyboard), prayer by team member, reading by team member, talk by Stephen, communion led by Stephen with team members usually invited to give thanks for the bread and the wine, finishing with a couple more songs.
ABC LUNCH CLUB: The first and third Wednesday of each month from 13:00.
ABC lunch club open its doors twice a month and is a great social event open to all. Lunch is served at 1.00pm sharp and consists of a Main course, desert and coffee/tea and mints. The cost of this sumptuous meal is a minimum donation of £2.50 per person a bargain price for a great meal and great company.
WEST MEADS COFFEE TIME: Every Thursday 10am – 12noon at the West Meads Hall.
Our aim is to provide a venue where people can meet together, make friends and enjoy coffee/tea and delicious home made cakes.

- Coffee Time at West Meads
We enjoy chatting to people who come, some regularly, some occasionally others while waiting for appointments at Doctors, Dentist or Vets. Not everyone lives on West Meads Estate but all receive a warm welcome. We have Christian leaflets on the tables for people to take home and we seek to share our faith when opportunity arises.
We make no charge for coffee and cakes but ask for small donations which we pass on 2 or 3 times a year to the Friends of Bognor Regis Hospital. We have been running ‘Coffee Time’ for nearly three years now and have raised nearly £3,000 in that time.
We are a team of 7 and usually 4 or 5 of us are present each week.
GOOD NEWS TRAVELLING LIBRARY: Everyone is welcome to borrow Christian books (including fiction), CDs, Tapes, DVDs and some Videos. Plus all sorts of Greetings cards and notelets, Christmas and Easter cards in season – all at economical prices. The library visits on the first or second Monday of the month (except May and August), please see the Calendar for specific dates.
COFFEE POT : Coffee Pot is open every Tuesday between 10 and 12 and is strategically situated at the Aldwick Parish Council office next to the Surgery and Library.
This outreach is primarily for the local community as a way of getting to know people and introducing them to various Church activities where interest is shown. A team of eight volunteers serve tea, coffee, chocolate and biscuits etc. whilst chatting to folk many of whom appreciate a listening ear. Some folk come for the whole time and others pop in as they are able but a friendly and happy atmosphere prevails each week.
Special occasions are marked with a cake and card. A bookstall offers suitable books for anybody to take and read.
No charge is made for the refreshments but all donations go to St. Wilfrid’s Hospice in Chichester. Since Coffee Pot started over seven years ago over £10,634 has been given to the Hospice.
“On Tuesday mornings we make a special point of going to the Coffee Pot where you get instant service from the servers as you walk in and a cheery Good Morning – that is what we like about it. Also the people who attend are very good company and like my wife Megan enjoy a good chat. We like a good social morning and long may the Coffee Pot exist.” (Megan & Denis)
“… Refreshments of steaming tea & coffee with a marvellous selection of biscuits; occasionally a birthday cake to celebrate a birthday together with a rousing rendition of Happy Birthday by all present. ... The volunteers are always on hand to give advice to newcomers to this area regarding reliable workmen – plumbers, electricians, gardeners etc. …I thoroughly recommend this stimulating, interesting, beneficial weekly get together for all in need of a bit of T.L.C and an endless supply of tea & coffee. Dogs most welcome!” (Rosemary)
