Children & Youth

The Church of Tomorrow

SUNDAYS @ ABC FOR CHILDREN/YOUNG PEOPLE - On Sunday mornings you can expect to see a range of ages within the congregation – including children and youths.  Our aim is to allow everyone within the service to feel part of what is happening– and for children and young people like everyone else, this means acknowledging and affirming their place within the church family! We celebrate who they are, enjoy the richness that they bring to the life of the church and we wish for ABC to be a positive, fun filled environment for them. You and your child will receive a warm welcome and we hope will develop friendships here as well!

We have a crèche for 0-3 available right through the service and there are a number of age related groups from 4 years right up to late teens which take place around a third of the way into the service. These groups seek to assist your child through fun, interesting and interactive ways to learn more of the great adventure of the Bible and its relevance today for them.  There are also great refreshments served after every service and we encourage people to stay and mingle! Many do!

As a church family we are learning how to become more of a family and to celebrate the rich diversity of people both young, old and everyone in between! We invite you to worship and grow with us!

FUN CLUB –  The first Saturday of each month from 10:00 – 12:00.  Fun Club is a free event for children of primary school age.  The morning typically comprises a craft activity, Bible memory verse, games, a Bible story (accompanied with DVD or Flannelgraph), singing and a quiz .

TUESDAY TOTS -  is held from 13:15 – 14:30 every Tuesday afternoon during school term time.  It is for new borns to school age children. There is no charge for attendance, although donations are welcome.

Mother and Carers have tea, coffee, biscuits and a chat whilst the children have free play for 45 minutes. The children can also take part in supervised craft such as playdough, painting, painting, sticking & glueing. At 14:00 we have ‘Tidy Up Time’ where all of the children help to put the toys away. After which they sit down to a juice and a snack (which varies each week from crisps, bananas and apples). After snack time we have a song time, the children often choose the songs and love to join in with the actions, musical instruments or puppets. Then at 14:30 it’s time to go home.

There is a large selection of toys and activities to play with each week, these are set out in well defined areas:

Craft Table – Playdough, painting, colouring/stensils, glueing, making.

Role Play – Dressing up, play kitchen, babies and dolls, shopping.

Play Tables – Train set, garages, Happy Land, Lego Duplo, pirate ship, castle, fairy castle, electronic toys, puzzles……the list goes on.

Active Fun – Slides, rockers, trampolines, ride-ons, bikes,

Baby Corner – Soft play area with various toys suitable for rollers and crawlers.

Sooo much to do.

The Tots Christmas Party will take place on the 6th December and runs from 12:30 until 14:30.
