Aldwick Free Churh has a number of groups and activities for young people, children and babies. We are currently looking to expand our youth and community work – please get in touch for more information!
Tuesday Tots
We are a Parent & Toddler group that meets on Tuesday afternoons to provide a safe environment with suitable toys, crafts and singing, for babies and children up to school age. To encourage children to mix and share toys, to give support, emotional needs when necessary, to help communicate with other children. Refreshments provided for all. 1.15pm to 2.30pm every Tuesday during Term-Time. Please contact Cheryl Hannam or Claire Millington via the church on 01243-268020 (answerphone).
Brigade
Meets every Tuesday evening from 6pm to 8pm and is open to all children from 4 to 21 years of age. In a friendly and family atmosphere we cover a four-square programme, namely spiritual, physical, educational and service subjects. Members are divided into four age sections:- Explorers (4-6’s); Juniors (7-9’s); Seniors (10-12’s) and Brigaders (13+). A typical evening consists of games, badgework such as cookery, craftwork, safety and sign language. Bible teaching is undertaken through a variety of means such as story-telling, drama, videos and Bible memory work.

Childrens Fun Club
For all children of Junior School age. 10am to 12noon. 50p per child or £1 per family. 1st Saturday of the month – Games, activities and much more – Please get in touch for more details.
Sunday Club
Sunday School groups for ages 4-14+. During usual Sunday Service times. 10.30am – 11.45’ish.
Youth & Children’s Policy
As members of this church, we commit ourselves to the nurturing,protection and safe keeping of all, especially children and young people.
It is the responsibility of each one of us to prevent physical, sexual and emotional abuse of children and young people, and to report any abuse discovered or suspected to the Minister.
We recognise that our work with children and young people is the responsibilty of the whole church.
We undertake the exercise proper care in the selection and appointment of those working with children and young people, whether paid or volunteer.
The church is committed to supporting, resourcing and training those who work with children and young people, and to providing supervision.
The church is committed to following the Home Office Code of Practice “Safe from Harm” and adopts the guidelines and procedures published by the Baptist Union of Great Britain in its publication “Safe to Grow” (revised edition).
Each worker must have an official “Enhanced” Disclosure.
Each worker with children and young people must know the recommendations, and undertake to observe them. Each shall be given a copy of the church’s agreed procedures and Good Practice guideline.
